SUPPORTING local businesses will be firmly in everyone's sights this week when St George Business Chamber and Georges River Council release new banners to be displayed on town centres carrying the message to 'Buy Local'. The banners have been printed by the chamber to celebrate Small Business Month and were unveiled by Georges River Council mayor Kevin Greene and St George Business Chamber president Allan Zreik last week. "The council is helping us by putting up the flags in the town centres of Hurstville, Kogarah, Mortdale, Penshurst and Peakhurst and other business centres to encourage people to buy local and stay local," Mr Zreik said. "We are looking forward to hearing from business people how it goes," Mr Zreik said. "Things are getting a little better. We are seeing more people out. Shops are returning to normal opening hours. "Chamber members will also visit businesses in the industrial areas to ask them how we can help to improve their business. We have to work together and hopefully things will get better."
